Deathcage

The idea for Deathcage came about when Danny and Kas re-met (after 9
years) at an Obituary show at the Manning Bar in May '07. In his youth,
Danny would sling imported Japanese punk records on street corners
around Sydney. Kas was a regular customer.

Around the same
time (May '07) Kas spotted a tall Swedish tourist in a Discharge shirt
at a Masstrauma show in Canberra. This was Nick Cage who was missing
his Swedish punk band, Saboteur. He was more than keen to play hardcore
in Australia.

In the meantime, Kas' brother, a glam rock head-banger called Romeo
Bullet, was on a break from his hard rock band, Maniac (for which
Kathrash drummed), for which he played guitar and sang. Romeo thought
it would be fun to start thumping the bass to a bit of hardcore punk.
The 4 started writing songs and jamming regularly in about June '07.

After having a bunch of songs written, but no singer/lyrics, Deathcage
decided that Nick Cage would sing in Swedish (he can't speak a word of
English). He has a sick voice, even sicker with an ancient viking
language.
However, an old friend of Danny's, who had already expressed an
interest in the band, SpiderXDeath, was found hobbling out of the ruins
of his crust/speed-thrash band (Smash'N'Grab) in a daze. Having
previously played in Sewer Cider and Farce with Danny, and being a long
term GISM and Deathside addict, and a general sick cunt, he immediately
grabed the mike and howled like a wolf in heat, and he hasn't stopped.
